I am BACK. I started this quilt perhaps two years ago, but had so many problems because my vision was so bad that I decided to try it another way. So, I turned all the pieces under and I was still not happy with it, so put it aside. Then several months ago I had cataract surgery on both eyes, which was a miracle!!!!! I guess I didn't realize how bad my vision really was. I was very determined to finish this quilt, and started taking each piece off and put it on a new background. By doing it this way, it created some technical problems that I was not able to correct---- but I really like it to view and it is finally finished. I haven't even named it yet. I'm open to suggestions.Sheril Drummondhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17452731432336625327noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15336059.post-32735233147920641262014-12-27T16:14:00.000-08:002014-12-27T16:14:21.987-08:00<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

What fun. I started with a hand dyed fabric, then couched on it, then did machine embroidery, then hand embroidery. I then stretched it over a canvas. I simply took the neck and cut it part way around, then left an amount in the front. I then sliced the fabric from the bottom up to the neck added pony beads and knots. How simple is that? I think I will make some more of these in different colors. It just slides over your head.<div style='clear:both; text-align:LEFT'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Sheril Drummondhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17452731432336625327noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15336059.post-18339157999377165652013-09-01T13:08:00.001-07:002013-09-01T13:08:49.183-07:00Copper Pendant<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w9A8d0qTLpw/UiOez1lcDbI/AAAAAAAAAx4/4b6NDmTaK-4/s1600/P1010676.JPG"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w9A8d0qTLpw/UiOez1lcDbI/AAAAAAAAAx4/4b6NDmTaK-4/s320/P1010676.JPG" style="clear: both; float: left; margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px;" /></a> This was done by using a piece of cardboard and covering it with batik fabric. This is made of strips of handdyed tee shirt fabric.<br />
I felt it needed a little glitz to glued on some crystals.<div style='clear:both; text-align:LEFT'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Sheril Drummondhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17452731432336625327noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15336059.post-45321331865312013692013-03-12T06:38:00.001-07:002013-03-12T06:38:52.763-07:00NEW FABRIC JEWELRY PIECES<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GYi8FY9sMvA/UT8v6ZQHf5I/AAAAAAAAAvg/vELrgtBLWuM/s1600/P1010651.JPG"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-GYi8FY9sMvA/UT8v6ZQHf5I/AAAAAAAAAvg/vELrgtBLWuM/s320/P1010651.JPG" style="clear: both; float: left; margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px;" /></a><br />
As some of you know, I have been playing with the possibilities of Fiber Jewelry.<br />
The first piece is made using a scrap of Batik fabric, backed with black felt and ribbon for a tie.<br />
<br />
The second piece is made from strips of felt with rinestones attached. Very fun to do, and will wear one to Quilting Guild meeting tonight and see what kind of a reaction I get. <a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DX2DYVjzjlQ/UT8v6iXMLCI/AAAAAAAAAvs/_agmkm9ZRlU/s1600/P1010649.JPG"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DX2DYVjzjlQ/UT8v6iXMLCI/AAAAAAAAAvs/_agmkm9ZRlU/s320/P1010649.JPG" style="clear: both; float: left; margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px;" /></a><div style='clear:both; text-align:LEFT'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Sheril Drummondhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17452731432336625327noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15336059.post-4333071804262755262013-03-06T07:17:00.001-08:002013-03-06T07:17:27.403-08:00Spring Has arrived in Kentucky!<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-THE04fhHBSc/UTdeBcLf8GI/AAAAAAAAAvI/jfZjbUeUvuM/s1600/P2100706.JPG"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-THE04fhHBSc/UTdeBcLf8GI/AAAAAAAAAvI/jfZjbUeUvuM/s320/P2100706.JPG" style="clear: both; float: left; margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px;" /></a> Just thought I'd share the fact that we got 3" of snow last night. This is the second attempt. So, much fun and it is continuous.<div style='clear:both; text-align:LEFT'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Sheril Drummondhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17452731432336625327noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15336059.post-67788962095354875242012-09-18T04:59:00.001-07:002012-09-18T04:59:38.713-07:00YOGA CLASSI just wanted to let everybody know that there will be no Yoga class this morning. Sorry, but I took a flu shot yesterday, and can not reach overhead, plus running a bit of a fever. Hope to see you on Thursday as usual.Sheril Drummondhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17452731432336625327noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15336059.post-36990012963406493892012-09-09T13:58:00.003-07:002012-09-09T13:58:26.155-07:00Mother's Love<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9-IlP3cfknw/UE0C8AXL0TI/AAAAAAAAAqU/DoY3HErlLd0/s1600/P7150487.JPG"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9-IlP3cfknw/UE0C8AXL0TI/AAAAAAAAAqU/DoY3HErlLd0/s320/P7150487.JPG" style="clear: both; float: left; margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px;" /></a><br />
I have finally decided that it has come a time in my life when I need to downscale. We are going to put our three story house up for sale after the first of the year and buy something on one level. <br />
<br />
To be able to do this I need to begin to let loose of some of my quilts. So, I have decided that once a week I will list a quilt, give discriptions, background, size and price. <br />
<br />
This quilt is named Mother's Love. It was made in 2010 and is number three of a series of house quilts I made expressly for a solo show that was held at the main library during the World Equestrian Games in 2010, held in Lexington, Ky.<br />
<br />
It is 47" wide and 42 1/2" long. I am quite well known for the Stained Glass Technique which is the main technique I work in and have taught a class on it for a number of years as well as an Internet class. <br />
It showed at several major quilt shows. <br />
The price is $l,800.00<div style='clear:both; text-align:LEFT'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Sheril Drummondhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17452731432336625327noreply@blogger.com0
